Resumen

La acuacultura del camarón se volvió rentable desde la década de los 70 debido a la creciente
demanda de este crustáceo, lo cual ha estimulado continuamente su cultivo. Para el cultivo
del camarón se destinan 1.2 millones de hectáreas en Asia y cerca de 200 mil ha en el
hemisferio occidental.
