Abstract

Las vitaminas son nutrientes orgánicos que se presentan en alimentos naturales y se
necesitan en cantidades muy pequeñas para el crecimiento, el mantenimiento y la
reproducción normal de los organismos. En general los animales no las sintetizan, por lo
tanto deben recibirlas con la dieta (Mayes, 1997a).Se conocen quince vitaminas que se
clasifican en dos grandes grupos: hidrosolubles y liposolubles.
