2HEFECTO DE SUELOS DE DIFERENTES GRANJAS DE CAMARON DE TEXAS EN EL CRECIMIENTO DE Penaeus vannamei
Resumen
Se cultivaron poslarvas de Penaeus vannamei (150 mg de peso promedio) durante 80 días en tanques interiores sin substrato o con suelo de estanques, de 5 granjas de camarón de Texas, pero con un suministro de agua en común (el canal de Port Aransas, TX). La ganancia en peso promedio para todos los tratamientos varió de 13.75 a 16.04 g. El crecimiento semanal para los días 1-30, 31-80 y 1-80 varió entre 1-02-1.14, 1.83-2.04 y 1.06-1.53 g, respectivamente. Aunque las diferencias en crecimiento de los camarones entre los diferentes tratamientos substratos fueron modestas, estuvieron altamente correlacionadas con la producción de camarón de años anteriores en los estanques de los cuales las muestras fueron obtenidas. Las regresiones de la producción ajustada de camarón del estanque (rendimiento de biomasa de camarón de un estanque particular, menos el rendimiento promedio de esa granja) sobre el crecimiento del camarón en el laboratorio, dieron correlaciones positivas significativas r = 0.73 (P = 0.041), r = 0.83 (P = 0.010), y r = 0.88 (P = 0.004) para los días 1-30, 31-80, y 1-80, respectivamente. Estos resultados demuestran un impacto del substrato sobre el crecimiento de los camarones independiente del suministro de agua.
